Youth Class 108: Fiqh for Kids

Take this course by joining Arkview Kids.

This class is included in Arkview and Arkview+.

This class is split into two groups - Beginners and Advanced.

Beginners cover:

  • What is Fiqh and why it is important.
  • Foundations of Faith - a general overview of what we believe as Muslims via the 6 Pillars of Iman
  • An introduction into the 5 pillars of Islam, with emphsis on Tahara and Prayer for this introductory class
  • Conditions of Taklif (Accountability)
  • Fiqh of Tahara (Purification)
  • Fiqh of Prayer including some of the following:
    • Preconditions of Prayer
    • Prayer Times
    • What to say for each step in prayer
    • Obligations, Recommended Sunnan, and Light Sunnan of prayer
    • Discouraged Actions of Prayer & Nullifiers
    • Jum’a prayer and it’s conditions
    • Prostration of Forgetfulness
    • Sunnan Prayers, Eid & Janaza Prayers and all their conditions
    • Quick overview of some of the other Sunnan prayers within Islam.

The Advanced group covers:

  • What is Fiqh and why it’s important
  • Review of previous topics (mostly in game form) such as:
    • Foundations of Faith - a general overview of what we believe as Muslims
    • Conditions of Taklif (Accountability)
    • Fiqh of Tahara (Purification)
    • Fiqh of Prayer (see Intro course description for more detail)
  • New topics include
    • Fiqh of Fasting
    • Fiqh of Zakat
    • Fiqh of Hajj
    • Fiqh of Food
Manners of a Muslim covering a wide number of topics including the following:
  • Prohibitions of the tongue
  • Rights of Parents

Hala Amer

Hala Amer is a NJ native, wife, and a mother of 3 boys. She has an undergraduate degree from Rutgers and an MBA in Technology Management from NJIT. She has worked and volunteered in the Muslim community in different capacities for over 15+ years and is currently a board member of Wafa House. She has spent the past number of years furthering her understanding of traditional Islam, and studying various Islamic Sciences. One of her favorite subjects has been fiqh, which she has studied through online teachers and programs - including Sheikh Shadee Elmasry, Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, and Sheikh Walead Mosaad. She is currently a student of Sheikh Shadee ElMasry and pursuing the scholarship track of Uwaylim.
